2、 家庭、家乡、学校篇。考官其实是要通过你的家庭、家乡或学校来了解你的成长的环境。

1） 家庭。要尽量说明家人（尤其是父母）对你造成哪些方面（性格、职业规划、做事风格等）良好的影响。可以参考以下句式结构：Just like my father, I am especially interested in history. / Though my father is an ordinary worker, his responsible attitude towards work has a great influence on me.

2） 家乡。考官实际上是想从你对家乡的介绍中找出有关你性格、志向的线索。可以从历史、历史人物、著名景点、独特风俗或特产等方面来简单介绍，注意要表达热爱家乡的情感。

我在新东方任教已经两年多了，以讲授与听力、口语相关的课程为主。我最大的体会是，中国学生的词汇量极大，一开口就能说出上千个美国人既没见过、又没听过的单词；并且中国学生对语法掌握的精深程度，完全可以胜任教老美TOEFL、GMAT语法之职。但是，一提到口语、听力，很多人便倍感痛苦，因为我们的听、说水平体现不出我们学习英语多年的功底，有时甚至连最简单、最基本的东西都听不懂、说不明白。有限的听说技能是横亘在许多学生求知路上的拦路虎，它使无数人在TOEFL、TSE以及国内的等级考试中吃尽了苦头。而如今国际性大公司纷纷抢滩中国市场，若想在其中谋得满意的职位，英语听说能力是必不可少的敲门砖。许多学生都认识到了在英语口语和听力方面取得突破的重要性而后迫切性，也投入了不少精力，却收效甚微。其实，英语听说取得突破并不是那么困难，关键在于掌握方法。若能把握住其中真谛，你就会很快体会到随心所欲听说英语的乐趣。下面我就谈谈英语口语和听力的学习方法。

一、语学习方法

1、 语音问题

几乎每个人都接受过英语语音训练，但是在实际应用时，语音仍是最让人头疼的问题。若是语音不过关，开口说话时就会低气不足，并且无法辨别对方的发音，听力受挫，那么交流就会很困难。要突破语音这一难关，首先要明白单个音素的发音，在此基础上把握连读、缩读等口语表达时常见的语音现象，进而练习英语口语的语调和节奏。练习时要模仿原声录音，有条件的还应录下自己的发音，与原声带进行对比，这样比较容易发现自己的不足。纠正发音是一个枯燥的过程，只有具备耐心、细心和恒心，才会有进步。“Well begun is half done”， 因此，一定要有一个好的开端。

2、 词汇问题

中国学生学习英语，词汇量并不是问题，但为什么我们说英语美国人有时听不懂呢？关键在于我们掌握的词汇含义，与实际的地道用法脱节。很多美国人都有这样一种感觉，中国学生讲英语时“talk like a book”，并且是一本“difficult book”。这样交流的效果肯定是大打折扣的。如何学习、掌握地道的口语词汇呢？我给大家的建议是多看原版电影。尽量电影情节是夸张的，但词汇是最地道的。在实际表达时，并不需要太大的词汇量，关键在于掌握其地道的用法，并加以灵活运用。

3、 句型问题

解决语音、词汇问题的同时，还要积累大量实用、简洁的英语口语句型。由于传统英语语法教学定式的影响，很多人一开口就是结构复杂的句式，一会儿独立主格，一会儿定语从句，甚至从句套从句，这样讲话，美国人是无法听懂的。因为这样表达太麻烦、太复杂。语音是交流的工具，其目的是让别人明白“what you are talking about”，因此不要把它当做炫耀自己的手段。平时大家在练口语时，一定要学会使用口语化的句型，《英语900句》就是一本简单、实用的句型总汇。中国学生认为这本书太简单而不屑一学，这反映了我们学习英语口语的一个普遍问题：忽视了口语的本质是简单。英语口语表达的最高境界应该是“simple but elegant”。

4、 思维问题

有些人发音不错，词汇不是问题，对句型的把握也可以，但是开口说英语时仍磕磕绊绊，词不达意，这里有一个很重要的问题，就是思维不到位。美国人的思维模式和我们有很大的差异。如果对两种不同的思想表达方式和思维逻辑关系把握不准，就达不到交流的目的。比如说，美国人在劝说、安慰或提建议时都是有一定的思维套路可遵循的，如果大家能把握好它，就能有效地“organize ideas”。语音、词汇、句型和思维是突破英语口语的关键。以此为基础，加上“hungry for speaking”的欲望和“ Practice makes perfect”的信念，进行大量的练习，只有这样，才能杂短期内真正地突

破口语这一关。

二、听力学习方法

在提高听力水平之前，应该严格按照前文所述的方法，提高口语水平。但听说水平是相辅相成的有机整体，两者互为条件，互相制约，因此必须同时兼顾。除此之外，练习英语听力，还应该特别注意以下几个问题：

1、 必须给自己创造一个尽量真实的语言环境

置身于一个处处可闻英语的环境，尽可能多地接受英语信号对自己听觉的刺激，随着熟悉度的加深，对捕捉到的英语的反应速度也会加快。提高听力是不能脱离语言环境的。如何置身于这样一个环境呢？学英语之初，我曾问过一位美国朋友，他说：最好的方法是 “Go to the United States”， 其次是“Marry an American”。当我表示实施起来有很大难度时，他说，那么其他有效的方法就是“watch American movies”。因为看完一部电影，就仿佛是在美国呆了两个小时，而学到的东西是你在美国两天、甚至两个星期都不一定能掌握的。我对此有很深的体会。在我教授电影课期间，很多学生的听力水平突飞猛进，原因就是电影为他们提供了一个真实的语言环境。

2、 必须要大量泛听

英语不仅是一门知识，更是一种技能。俗话中用“拳不离手，曲不离口”来形容熟练掌握一种技能的诀窍。训练英语听力的办法也是如此：需要大量听，大量背。一个没有泛听过英语的人，不可能突然拥有良好的听力。一开始有兴趣就乱听，一点儿听不懂或听懂很少，这没有关系。也许三个月过去了，好像每个单词都这么熟悉，但还是不知道它的确切意思。你的感觉是什么？——没有长进。其实在不知不觉中，你已经有了很大的进步，只不过这是一个潜移默化的过程。泛听是一个知识储备的手段，为你打下了坚实的基础，为你迎接听懂英语的“一刹那”做好了必不可少的准备，有了这个基础，再配合精听，你的听力很快就能实现突破。

3、 泛听必须和精听相结合仅仅泛听是不够的。它只是量的积累，是一个准备过程，只有在精听之后，听力才能有质的飞跃。我练听力之初，泛听过很多部美国电影，但对每部影片的理解也只有四成左右，似乎听力水平就停滞于此了。于是，我开始精听《毕业生》这部影片，经过仔细学习、揣摩电影中的词汇、文化和思维等，我对它的理解达到了80%以上。我又用同样的方法学习了《阿瑟》、《漂亮女人》、《哈里遇到塞丽》等其他四、五部影片。当我再去看其他影片时，我惊喜地发现，要理解60%以上非常轻松，真有豁然开朗的感觉。从那以后，我很注意看电影时的精泛结合，听力水平也一步一个台阶地提高了。精听电影，就如同为自己的听力插上腾飞的翅膀，成为突破听力难关不可缺少的步骤。

上述口语、听力方法的介绍，希望大家借鉴。同时大家也应该明白这样一个道理：“Rome was not built in a day”（冰冻三尺，非一日之寒）。只要持之以恒，突破口语和听力难关的那一刻离你并不遥远。
