There is a frog. He lives in a well and he never goes out of the well. He thinks the sky is as big as the mouth of the well.

One day a crow comes to the well. He sees the frog and says, “Frog, let’s have a talk.”

Then the frog asks, “Where are you from?”

“I fly from the sky,” the crow says.

The frog feels surprised and says, “The sky is only as big as the mouth of the well. How do you fly from the sky?”

The crow says, “The sky is very big. You always stay in the well, so you don’t know the worldis big.”

The frog says, “I don’t believe.”

But the crow says, “You can come out and have a look by yourself.”

So the frog comes out from the well. He is very surprised. How big the world is!

唐僧、孙悟空师徒四人在击败了有意挑衅的六耳猕猴后，继续向西天前进，来到了西凉女国，唐僧等前往王宫内换取牒文，谁知女王见唐僧仪容俊美，情愿以身相许，让位于唐僧，这下可急坏了唐僧。

幸亏孙悟空机灵乖巧，用计稳住了女王，并乘机嫌得了牒文，使师徒四人终于逃离了西凉女国。六耳猕猴不甘心自己的失败，加之他想独往西天取经，赢得名声，身成正果。于是，他三番五次地假扮成孙悟空，以假乱真，迷惑了唐僧。

六耳猕猴有意在唐僧面前杀伤小盗，让唐僧误以为是悟空所为，把他逐出禅门，自己就可以乱中取利，趁机抢走牒文。唐僧果然中计，在大念了一通紧箍咒后，要将悟空赶走。

孙悟空遭此冤枉后，忠心不改。为保唐僧去西天取经，他不得不去南海普陀，求助于观音菩萨。但六耳猕猴自恃有一身通天的本领，一而再、再而三地与孙悟空掀起了一场场恶斗，两个猴子都使出了看家本领和浑身的解数，一直打上了凌霄宝殿，玉皇大帝令他们二人停止，但六耳猕猴竟然不服从玉帝的命令，闹得玉帝也无可奈何。

真假美猴王一直厮打到灵山，要让如来佛辨个真伪，说出是非。在佛法无边的如来面前，六耳猕猴最终闹了个原形毕露，自食恶果。

唐僧师徒四人在战胜了六耳猕猴以后，又踏上了去西天取经的漫漫长路。
