extra和additional的区别1
I、这两个词的词义基本没有区别，但在用法上extra可以用在名词后面，而additional不行。
II、additional〓由名词additon派生出的形容词，意思是把额外的部分加到前面所题到的价目上使前面所提的价目发生变化。
extra〓指把额外的部分不加到前面所题到的价目上，而是另行计算。
我不太会说话，给楼主举个例子吧，比如说你去一家餐厅吃饭，吃完了饭呢要付帐走人，餐钱为100元，你若只付90块呢，侍者就会叫你补齐额外的10元，这时应用additional（即把额外的部分加到前面的这个90块，这个量就变成100元了，使前面所提的价目发生变化）；第二种情况，你若已经付了100块，而侍者要你付小费，你给了他10块，这时前面的量100块并没有变化，而是在此基础上加上去的，此时应用extra——不使前项的价目产生变化，而是额外部分另行计算。 例题：You can grant us an ______commission of 2% to cover the ______risk. 你们可以获得另外2%的佣金，以补偿你受的额外风险。
如上例题目，“你们可以获得另外2%的佣金”，意思是说除了你应该获得的佣金，你还会获得另外的2% （既前文所提的佣金部分是不会变化，在此基础上另加2%），故应填extra;第二个空应填additional，因为受到额外的风险，就是说你在受到风险的基础上又受到额外的风险而导致如今受到的风险的量变化了，即如上提到的“additional意思是把额外的部分加到前面所题到的价目上”。 III、在足球比赛中additional time和extra time的区别：
additional time——加算时间，也叫补时，一般三分钟左右。不过正规的补时叫stoppage time 。
extra time——就是加时赛的意思，上下半场各十五分钟。
