诚信无价 Integrity Is Priceless【第一篇】

A boy went to a shop and bought a pencil and other things. When he was going to pay the bill, he took out his wallet and found he had not enough money to pay. He felt awkward. At that moment, an old man who was in charge of the shop smiled and said to the boy that he could give the rest of the money next time. The boy was so shocked, as the old man trusted him so much. When the boy went home, he remembered it all the time. So the next morning, when he passed the shop, he gave the money without hesitation. Integrity is priceless and decides who we are.

Have you ever heard that we humans use only ten percent of our brains? This oft-quoted myth holds a certain appeal because if it were true, then we could instantly become ten times more intelligent just by firing up that sleepy majority of the brain!

The idea that we use only a small fraction of the brain dates back to animal experiments in the 19th century. When scientists stimulated a specific part of the brain, the animal moved its leg or tail. If a tiny part of the brain could do something so grand, what was the use of the rest of the brain? Some scientists assumed (rather unscientifically) that large parts of the brain were simply useless.

I felt so sorry, I break my promise for the first time, I realize I did the very bad thing. Even though I apologized for many times, my friend was still angry with me. I learn the lesson, promise is very important, we must keep it, other people will see through our personality to decide what kind of person we are.
