优秀英语作文【第一篇】
Snow, since ancient times how many poets, praise it.
Day gray, as if the smoke was black in general. Soon afterwards, the big rain of the beans fell down, and I knew that there would be a snowfall for a while. Sure enough, after heavy rain, snowflakes, day women scattered flowers generally fall down. That one by one octagonal snow, leisurely swing, as if only a small umbrella have fallen.
Look, that one big butterfly falls on the tree, on the road, on the roof ...
The tree, all the branches are full of white pear, and as if in silently selfless dedication, covered with silver bars in the tree. The rows of pine trees on the side of the road seemed to be guarding the guards of the frontier, but added a coat. Look at their tall and straight posture, could not help but make you awe.
That distant mountain, head with a white hat, the mountain was surrounded by brown and green, a road cloud, as if the mountain dress. Beautiful village, every tree, are so pure, beautiful, like a naive little girl.
"You know this snow, not as heavy as the poem, it is so gentle, is gently covered in that one, that is, Trees on the tree, like a white cloak gently put on the body; earth like snow covered with white carpet. See how hard the pedestrian wears like a mass of cotton. Walking on the road, like a cotton swatch in the street, funny.
Look, the snow is so beautiful! Im intoxicated.

Finding a Good Job is not easy.
College students in China may choose jobs by themselves. So everyone can make his own choice of his career before graduating.
Job hunting by students has had a big impact on campus. Students have become more practical and eager to develop their manifold abilities to meet the challenges in their future jobs. Since state-allocated jobs are no longer guaranteed, stone students are willing to work in private companies because of higher pay and other benefits, whereas jobs of high academic
level lose part of their former attraction. If the link between graduating from college and becoming a state employee is cut, a large number of fee-paying students may go to college, and so a mass high education is possible. This is indeed a trail blazing
reform in China's higher education system.
Finding a good job is not easy. There exist many practical obstacles at the present stage of reform. First, there are few service centres available to help them. Second, students often fail to recognize how good a job really is. Third, colleges usually ignore social demands in their programs and students are not always fully prepared for their new jobs. And finally, the existing restrictions, sexual discrimination, nepotism优待亲戚; 裙带关系and bureaucracyXXX, 官僚作风adversely affect job competition. Nevertheless, students don't have to worry about unemployment, because the well-educated are badly needed in the rapid development of China's economy.

Money-market funds (Excerpt)
A boom amid the bust--Can the success of money funds last?
THE credit crisis has produced many losers and a few winners. Among money-market mutual funds, which invest in short-term debt and other instruments, it is the other way round. Some funds that exposed themselves to mortgage-linked exotica, albeit indirectly, have had to [---①(phrase) ---] by their managers. But many of the rest have done nicely as worried investors flocked to them, seeking safety.
Long an unexciting province within asset management, money funds have played a big role in the crunch. They bought much of the short-term debt that [---②(phrase) ---] structured finance. It was their sudden withdrawal that caused the market in asset-backed commercial paper (ABCP) to seize up. And banks' liquidity problems are largely the result of money funds' recent reluctance to hold their debt.
If this makes them villains, then crime pays. Money funds have been taking market share from banks for years: big banks were less interested in competing for deposits during the [---③(phrase) ---], since they were selling on their loans. The crisis only accelerated this shift, since money funds were seen as one of few havens. In America, the biggest market, their assets have increased by 39% over the past year, to a record $ trillion, even as returns have fallen (see chart).
[--------------------④(sentence)--------------------]By the end of 20xx, money funds held a record 31% of corporate America's short-term assets, a share that is thought to have continued rising this year.
Why are companies flocking to outsource their cash management? In the boom, all that mattered to them was [---⑤(word) ---], and they did not need help finding it. Now they crave [---⑥(phrase) ---]—a welcome rediscovery that short-term holdings should “bore you into a good night's sleep”, as Reserve Management's Bruce Bent, creator of the first money fund in 1970, puts it. Money funds, with robust credit departments that do not simply rely on ratings, are better placed than corporate treasurers to provide this.
英语作文【第四篇】
It was a sunny balmy afternoon at the end of a leisurely summer。 I was driving on a winding country road with a lady friend。 Little did I know that I was to have a close call that would have almost ruined the rest of my life。
Earlier that day, a friend called me to tell me that our mutual friend Rosy was arriving back from Taiwan after the summer holidays。 Since there was no airport in the immediate vicinity of the university, she would need a ride to come back on campus。
Being mildly interested in that girl, I jumped at the chance to play hero。 The trip was not particular long or arduous。 I was to pick her up from a friend’s home that was a mere 80 miles from campus—a piece of cake, I said to myself。
Everything went well。 The ()country road was almost deserted。 Visibility was good and I was not driving very fast。 The conversation was lively but not distracting。
About half an hour into the drive, I rounded a corner and noticed two small children, aged around 10, waiting to cross the road after getting off their school bus。 My mind was not particularly focused on them because I thought they would not cross the road when a truck was coming through on their side。 The two kids looked to their left, watching the truck intensely。 As soon as the truck passed, and without a thought, they started to dash across the road。 I was petrified, to say the least。 My heart almost leaped out of my throat。 Time seemed to have come to a standstill。 It was like a nightmare coming into reality。 I felt I was in the slow motion crash scene of a movie。 I did not even have the time to brake or steer clear。
By providence smiled on me that day。 The two kids missed my car by less than an inch。 Imagine what would have happened if I had hit them? They would have been killed instantly。 I would have been charged with manslaughter and thrown into jail。 My career would be over before it even got started。 The kind of inhumane treatment I would receive from fellow inmate, I could only guess but hate to imagine。 I will never be a whole person again even if I were to be released early for good behavior。 My life would be over。 Even if I had a good lawyer that could have gotten me off, I would have carried that guilt in my mind for the rest of my life。
Even today, thirty-six years later, the memory of that day is still fresh on my mind。 I have my lucky star to thank for having both parties gotten off unscathed。
