一、阅读理解

要想提高阅读能力，在平时应当有意识地进行阅读训练。在训练中，主要从词汇和阅读解题方法入手。

词汇：在阅读过程中，不可避免地会碰到不认识的单词，考试中又不允许查词典，有些不认识的单词对文章的理解影响不大，可以忽略。但有些不认识的单词则会影响阅读者对文章理解的正确性。在这种情况下，必需猜测词的含义，这就需要利用猜词的技巧了。最基本的猜词技巧有两种：一是根据构词法的规则猜；另一种猜词的技巧是根据上下文，运用已有的知识来分析和推断该词的含义。

解题方法：

1)先看文章后做题。主要针对简单易懂的文章，时间又较充裕的情况；

2)先看题目后读文章再做题。这种方法适用于时间紧、文章长的情况下。这样，可以带着问题去阅读，有的放矢，与考题相关的内容就仔细阅读，与题目无关的就可以跳过去；

3)快速阅读文章后面的题目，并将题目中的关键词用笔画出来，这样解题时就容易多了；

4)阅读时，应注重首段、尾段、首句和尾句。一般文章的这些部分是文章或者段落的主干，通过侧重这些位置，可以对文章有整体性的把握。

二、完型填空

完形填空题型不仅考查学生的语法、词法、句法、习惯用法等英语基础知识的综合运用能力又考查学生对短文的阅读和理解能力。在复习阶段：首先要积累词汇，熟练地掌握学过的全部语法知识，牢记习惯用法，特别是动词短语；注意对动词、名词、形容词、副词等词汇意义及其褒贬含义的真正理解；注意它们的同义词、近义词、反义词及其辨析；其次要有计划地多做一些完形填空的练习，运用解题思路和方法，加强阅读，培养语感，积累词汇，打下扎实的英语基础。

解题方法：1)通览全文，了解大意；2)逐个选择，不懂得就先略过去；3)重读文章，从语义和逻辑的角度审视全文，看其是否通顺流畅、条理清晰、符合逻辑。与此同时，将未填的空档全部补齐。

三、翻译

重点分析段落的结构与含义，然后再进行翻译，最后再进行检查。考生应在平常的学习中注重累积词汇及其用法，并研读翻译技巧用书，学习翻译方法。

四、写作

If the natural resources are used economically, we can certainly slow down the present drain on the limited energy supply. However, the problem cannot be solved by conservation only.
