Why Studying History Matters?

Studying a subject that you feel pointless is never a fun or easy task. If you're study history, asking yourself the question "why is history important" is a very good first step. History enriches our experience. Reading history is an amazing experience because it enables us to reflect on the social and economic life of the people living long time ago.

According to the experts, problems faced by people regardless of the past and present are the same. With the information about the ancestors, one can become more experienced in handling challenges of life.

History makes us more empathetic. Studying history can give us insight into why our culture does certain things, and how the past has shaped it into what we know now. It also provides a rather strong foundation, for empathy across cultures. Fear and hate for others is usually caused by ignorance. We' re scared of the things that we don't understand. History has the potential to break down those boundaries by offering us insight into entire worlds that would otherwise be foreign to us.

History can inspire us to learn more. What's fantastic about history is the way it broadens our horizons. It's almost impossible to learn about one historical period without having dozens of questions about related concepts. Study the 19th century England, and you might catch a glimpse of Charles Dickens' Oliver Twist. Look up Charles Dickens, and you might learn a thing or two about realism. Or maybe you end up switching your attention away from novels, and discover the history of romantic poets in England. It can go anywhere, and there is something in there for absolutely anybody. The value of history cannot be underestimated. We don't have to live in the past, but we can definitely do better by learning from it and using the lessons learned to lead more meaningful lives.

They are like streetcars running contentedly on their rails and they despise the sprightly flitter that dashes in and out of the traffic and speeds so jauntily across the open country. I respect them; they are good citizens, good husbands, and good fathers, and of course somebody has to pay the taxes; but I do not find them exciting.

Some people go through life standing at the excuse counter.

They say they’d like to do this or that, but then they offer all the excuses in the world for why they can’t do whatever it is. No matter what the excuses are, the only thing that is usually limiting them is their own self-perception.

If I’ve learned anything, I’ve learned that a person —any person —may do anything they set their mind on doing. The things you need are willingness to work for what you want, patience to learn what you need to know and, most important of all, belief in yourself. You only need a seed, and then your faith in yourself will grow with you as you move forward.

If your self-perception is that you can’t accomplish something because you’re not smart enough, then take the time to learn what you need to know, and then your self-perception will change.

If your self-perception is that you can’t accomplish something because you never finish anything you start, then go and finish something and change your self- perception.

If your self-perception is that you’re too lazy, too busy, too unworthy, too unfocused, too depressed, or too dependent on others to accomplish great things, then you’re right. You are that because you believe you are, but in fact, you can change that! Life is change, and the past doesn’t equal the future. Your reality today is the result of your past beliefs and actions. Change your beliefs and actions, and you will change your future. Whether you think you can or you can’t, you’re right. You are what you think.

Think about that the next time you need an excuse.

On the one hand,campus is the place for students to learn the school should create the environment which is suitable for the students to as the school can open the shops to sell the books,or the things which are related to the study.

On the other hand,the commercial centers will distract students’ attention from their shop,the theater and other shops have built in some campus,it makes the students can’t focus their minds,they just want to finish their class and then go original purpose has been forgotten by the students.

Though the commercialize of campus brings students convenience,it is not suitable to let those shops open,students’ main duty is to study and the commercialize will interfere them.

虽然校园的商业化给学生带来了方便，但是让这些店开在校园里是不合适的，学生的主要任务是学习，商业化会干扰他们。
