A man, a woman and a child are telling the tree their troubles.

“How can I do what you say,” asked the child, “and still be me?”

“Look at me,” said the tree. “I bend in the wind, droop in the rain, yet I always remain myself, a tree.”

The man said. “I can’t change.”

“Look at me,” said the tree, “I change every season from green to brown to green again, from bud to flower to fallen leaf. Yet I always remain myself, a tree.”

“I can’t love any more,” said the woman, “With my love, I have given away all that I am.”

“Look at me,” said the tree. “There are robins in my branches, owls in my trunk, moss and lady bugs living on my bark. They may take what I have, but not what I am.”

Whether we know it or not, we are like the tree. Only our pride hangs on to a false sense of self, wanting to keep everything, refusing to follow advice or spiritual direction.

What we do doesn’t matter; how we do it is what counts. Change and growth is as natural as the sun coming up every morning and the setting of it every night. Go with what is inside you and listen to what your heart tells you. Why not even if just for today, reach out once more to a place that exists outside yourself without or from others…just once more.

We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light.

Are you ready to unlock your productivity potential? As we enter the final quarter of , it’s time to look back on the year。 Have you accomplished at least 75% of the resolutions you made at the beginning of the year? If you haven’t, don’t worry; here are some tips on how to make your day the most productive。

1。You are in control

The first thing you need to keep in mind is that you are in control of your life。

“The bad news is time flies。 The good news is you’re the pilot。” – Michael Altshuler。

Mr。 Altshuler was right。 Time flies, and sometimes it flies so fast without you realizing it。 What you need to remember is that everything in your life is dictated by the choices you make。 So, begin each day by reminding yourself that you are in control and you decide what happens today。

Only you can decide whether or not it is going to be a productive day。

2。 Optimism is the key

Start your day with a positive mind。 Not all tasks that you have listed are easy。 This may include talking to your boss about a raise, tackling a complicated project — or even just going to the gym。 You may start thinking that your boss will say ‘No’ or about all the obstacles you are going to face on the project。 You might think going to the gym is too tiring and better not do it。

Abraham Lincoln said, “We can complain because rose bushes have thorns, or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses。”

We just have to look at things differently。 Perhaps your boss will consider that you have made valuable contributions to the team and agree that your request for a raise is justified。 Look at a complicated project as a challenge that will help you learn something。 Think of the benefits going to gym will give you。 (If nothing else, think of a special treat you can indulge in once you have done your gym session。) Learn to be optimistic and good things will follow。 On the other hand, if things didn’t go as expected, then always remember: When one door closes, another will open。 The lost opportunity may not be for you but you are up for something much better。

It is all about having the proper mindset。 Be positive。

3。 Procrastinate no more

As human beings, we think that we have all the time in the world to do the things we want and need to do。 This is the reason we love procrastinating。 We are always thinking that we have tomorrow to spare and we can just push to do things to another day。 But what if you don’t have tomorrow?

Remember this Bill Keane quote, masterfully used by Master Oogway (the wise tortoise in Kung Fu Panda): “Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift。 That’s why they call it the present。”

Today is something to be thankful for, so better spend it wisely。 You’ll never know what is going to happen tomorrow。 Do the things that you have set today right at this moment。

Say “No” to procrastination and always say “Yes” to today。

4。 Ignore the perfectionist in you

“Prolific beats Perfect。” – Daniel Priestley

I know that we tend to be our harshest critics and often times will keep fiddling with a project even when it’s good enough。 While I am not advocating pushing out halfhearted work, I believe sometimes you have to accept good enough and move on。 Spending too much time obsessing over tiny details means that you are putting in an additional amount of time to tweak something only 1% of people will notice。 It also means you will get bogged down in the minute details and before you know it, the day is over。

Stop obsessing and start completing。 Don’t let the inner perfectionist monster get the better of you。 Work that is completed and pushed out on time is better than work that is perfect, but late。

If you bear these 4 things in mind every single day, you will find yourself able to look forward to each day with a better attitude to getting things done。 This will, in turn, lead you to getting closer and closer to your goals。

Say goodbye to the slums of yesterday…and hello to the most productive days of your life。

We all, at one time or another, have pretended to be a rock star, singing and dancing along to our favorite song. Most of us have done this in the privacy of our own room when we were kids and as adults, in the privacy of our homes. Me? I love to do that when I drive! I turn on the radio, find a song that I can sing along too and pretty soon my arms are in the air and I am moving along to the rhythm. Most of the time, I do this on my way to work.

Yes, that is true. I will be in my nice work clothes, jamming while driving or stopped at a traffic light. I get weird looks from some people and others laugh. Personally, I love to get lost in the rhythm of a song which leads me to share with you the importance of being silly!

The definition for the word silly, according to the dictionary is: stupid, foolish and nonsensical. I know many people do not want to look foolish. So they walk around all serious, which in all honesty, is foolish!

No one is perfect, I repeat: no one is perfect. I don't care how educated, how thin, how beautiful, how simple, how frugal, how rich, and so on… No one is perfect! So why pretend to be something you are not?

As soon as I walked outside, I was greeted with the shimmering white blanket of cold. Despite the chill overwhelming my skin, inside I was warm. I felt as though I could be giving off heat; I had the desire to stay out in this freeze for hours. It was the type of day that speaks to you through its elements; I took a deep breath to hear more snow was coming.

As I walked I looked up, trying to realize what made this day so beautiful, so serene. It was as if time had been put temporarily on hold and I along with it. Or maybe I was the only one unpaused…Either way, the solitude was comforting, and I sensed myself floating away. I sat down on the edge of a curb and listened. All there was to hear was the wind rushing over the top of my head and circling some old, cracking leaves some yards away. To me it was the reassuring sound of nature, trying not to be forgotten.

It did start to snow. None of those little flurries, but big, fat flakes which clung immediately to their surface.

Then it was time to go and my reverie had to end. As I began walking again, I drifted back into this time frame, calm and cleared.

Now if only I could remember where I was going.

Joy in living comes from having fine emotions, trusting them, giving them the freedom of a bird in the open. Joy in living can never be assumed as a pose, or put on from the outside as a mask. People who have this joy don not need to talk about it; they radiate it. They just live out their joy and let it splash its sunlight and glow into other lives as naturally as bird sings.

We can never get it by working for it directly. It comes, like happiness, to those who are aiming at something higher. It is a byproduct of great, simple living. The joy of living comes from what we put into living, not from what we seek to get from it.

Consider… YOU. In all time before now and in all time to come, there has never been and will never be anyone just like you. You are unique in the entire history and future of the universe. Wow! Stop and think about that. You're better than one in a million, or a billion, or a gazillion…

You are the only one like you in a sea of infinity!

You're amazing! You're awesome! And by the way, TAG, you're it. As amazing and awesome as you already are, you can be even more so. Beautiful young people are the whimsey of nature, but beautiful old people are true works of art. But you don't become “beautiful” just by virtue of the aging process.

Real beauty comes from learning, growing, and loving in the ways of life. That is the Art of Life. You can learn slowly, and sometimes painfully, by just waiting for life to happen to you. Or you can choose to accelerate your growth and intentionally devour life and all it offers. You are the artist that paints your future with the brush of today.

Paint a Masterpiece.

God gives every bird its food, but he doesn't throw it into its nest. Wherever you want to go, whatever you want to do, it's truly up to you.

Wisdom appears in contradiction to itself, which is a trick life plays on philosophy of life.
