A bottle had fallen down, with half of its water pouring out. To the scene, two men responded

differently, one man, feeling extremely sad, his hand covering his face, sighed ”All has gone!” The other seemed much more optimistic. He ran happily toraise up the bottle and said with great gratitude ”There is still some waterleft.”

Why did the two people have such distinct reaction? It is because theyjudged the situation from opposite perspectives. After the bottle fell, thepessimistic observer focused on the losses thereby thinking negatively, whilethe other observer noticed the remaining liquid and then had a positive , the fallen bottle is a symbol of unfortunate circumstances in life andthe two kinds of responses reflect two different attitudes towardsmisfortunes.

Misfortunes mean obvious losses; however , they still bring latestopportunities to people with optimistic mind. From the perspective of optimists, firing a career disaster , will be a reminder of the necessity for an urgentimprovement in their personality or expensive sensing the signal for change, those optimists will strive to achieve personal growth, the growth whichprovides a guarantee to healthier career development in the future. Misfortunesare blessings in disguise and optimism can unlock the cover. Therefore, in theface of misfortunes people should adopt an optimistic attitude.

ladies and gentlemen:

it is a great honor for me to talk about the topic with you all, my dear friends!

as you all know, there is a flinty problem that many many fresh graduates can not find their jobs today. what is worse, it seems that we have few ways to sovle it. probably, some others would argue that why not let our ya go abroad since there are so many chances there? on second thoughts, should our government propose that we youth go abroad for job hunting? my answer is absolutely “ no”!

just think, my friends, why somebody suggest our fresh graduates go abroad? are our markets for job seekers really saturated ? are there really bags of jobs waiting for the jobless abroad? can the migration really put the axe in the helve? it is unlikely, in my opinion.

in some degree, it is a illusion thinking that there have been dead-alive on the labor market home. so many graduates say they can not find their jobs, so many parents worry about their young ones’ future, so many companies close the doors for job seeking…… how it just be a illusion ? do i have a bee in my head?

first ,we should make it clear that what kind of jobs that our graduates want to take, and where they want to work? it goes without saying, only jobs providing high salary in big cities, for instance beijing, can satisfy them. unfortunately ,that kind of jobs are limited. therefore, it is not that our graduates can not find jobs but that they can not find the fictive jobs , as a matter of fact. no matter how flourish and how actively a city is, it can provide numbered positions for the job seekers. what they want is perfect, but what they can gain in the end is another pair of shoes.

in fact, in the country, in the undeveloped places, more and more persons with ability are needed. however, there are no theatres, there are no cafes, there are no kfc, and there are supermarkets… as a result, no body like to work there. as we all know, developed countriess usually have the same problem that large numbers of person lost their work, which is even serious than china. millions of people pageant nearly every day, speaking for a piece of work. so what we can do after we get there? how can we support ourselves?

not all emigrants live a happy life, in fact, most of them worry about their life from time to time. digesting the culture seems always difficult, the salary stays at a low level, and the miss to their motherland always follows…

how about the developing country? are there more jobs, higher wages and comfortable life? i am sorry ,the answer is still “no”! plumply speaking, many developing counties are disordered. you can not prosuppose when the terrorists may attack you, when the epidemic may come and how can you make a living?

now you can see, as i refered to, foreign countries are not the paradise, at least, to most of the people having gone abroad. in this case, why we still suggest our graduates go overseas? in addition, will that really be good for our country after number of fresh graduates entering overseas for their job seeking?

as the matter of our family planning policy, the aged will become more and more, which is leading to a reasonably unfavourable situation. it is said that we will not have enough work force in future. please project yourself in that case, once it comes true, what will it happen? factories is short of workers, hospitals lack doctors, offices are pressed for missionaries…… now you can imagine, my dear friends, how terrible it is!

English Speech for the Hundred Day College Entrance Examination Pledge

Distinguished school leaders, dear teachers and fellow students,

Good afternoon!

The sun is shining brightly and spring is around the corner. The most significantday in our lives comes—100 days to the college entrance examination. Today, onbehalf of the Senior Three, I am very honored to express our promising aspirations atthe 100-day Oath-taking rally.

hree years ago, we were just a group of childish boys and girls, stepping into our beautiful campus with a vision for a bright future.“With the soundof the reading, Suzhou High School is a lively campus, where we can fly our dreams…”The pastthree years witnessed our every little progress. Under the school leaders'care and theteacher's instructions, we grew up with happiness and laughter and also with each other’s company. Obviously, our laughter and singing lingered in every corner of the campus.

Time flies. Today, it's only 100 days to the college school entrance examination. It's like facingthe track of 100-meter race. Standing on another starting line together, we strive torun fast together and rush to the finishing line. The distance to it is getting closer andcloser. Maybe you are just as ambitious but uneasy as I am. We feel uneasy because we don't have a complete grasp of the allthe knowledge points, and we haven't finished all the exercises. Also, there may be ups anddowns of the results for the coming mock examinations and we are still not sure if wecan be admitted to our ideal university.

At this moment, in this exciting 100-day Oath-taking rally, once again, we see theschool leaders who fully support and care for us, the teachers who teach and help us,and the parents who always are always there for us. For the sake of their great expectation of us, we have no reason to retreat! So, every one, beat the battle drum aloud and strive for our better dream!

Dear fellow students, one hundred days are just in a twinkling of an eye in the long river of life, However,on the runway of the college entrance examination, theone hundred meters are long enough for us to surpass the self. Here, I would like toshare with you some suggestions so that we will be better prepared for this once-in-a-life-time battle.

Firstly, under the guidance of teachers, we should review comprehensively, consolidate fundamental knowledge, check our missing points and make up for ourdefects; Secondly, we should learn to summarize knowledge points, correct mistakes in time, do drills in our weak chapters; Thirdly, we should allocate time reasonably, rest and sleep enough while studying hard; finally, we should keep ourselves relaxed and cultivategood psychological quality so as to enter the examinationroom with the best mental state and answer questions on paper with all our capabilities.

As long as we can practice the above tips, I firmly believe that we can all makegreat achievement in a hundred days, and our scores will shoot up, maybe by 10points, 20 points, 30 points, even more points.

Dear fellow students, college entrance examination is a mountain thatwe must conquer in our lives. Only by rising to this challenge can we enjoy more beautifulscenery and be blessed with a brighter future. Let's cherish the last 100 days of our highschool. From now on, we should persist in doing well every problem we face, concentrate on every step ahead of us, mobilize all our wisdom, gather all ourenthusiasm and create a new self that dares to surpass.

At this sacred moment, in the name of youth and on behalf of the Senior Three students, please allow me to say: we will live up to the expectations of our teachers, ourparents and our own youth. We’ll strive hard and try our best. With pride andconfidence, we’ll face the entrance examination calmly; we will be worthy of almamater, worthy of youth, worthy of this great era!

That’s all. Thank you for your time!
